Mac has done some amazing things to say the least. If you want to do ANYTHING with graphics or any type of video editing... Mac is the way to go... but keep in mind that most networks are built on windows platforms... and some of the software is not compatible with other formats, as with Linux... then again some of the coolest stuff I've ever seen came off of Mac OSX. Running 3 operating systems at once on the same machine... the processors alone are a work of art.

but alas... i'm stuck in a windows world for the most part because of work and such.

It was Apple that invented the GUI. Microsoft got sued because apple claimed that they stole it from them. They lost. I hate MS.

    Peace.

MS = multiple sclerosis, microsoft... whatever... same thing...

Damn, you're either stupid or misinformed (or both! Yay!). Xerox invented the GUI, Apple stole it from Xerox, MS stole it from Apple (in part because Apple made a fantastically stupid decision), and Linux stole it from MS.

They couldn't exactly win a case by saying "They stole an idea that we stole!! Wahhh!!!"

I haven't really worked with osX but the gui sure looks sweet. I love that liquid stuff they use on there menues. I wish it would be awailable for I386 procs though. As it is now I would have a hard time fork up the money for one of those desined boxes. Maybee they could ship there GUI as a Linux shell..that would be nice.

Now if I'm not mistaken (if I am, I'm sure -Ken- will point it out ), isn't OSX somewhat Unix based. Or is it just modeled after Unix?

Well what I do know is that their (Mac's) next OS venture is Jaguar which uses a Unix kernel. Can't wait to see what that'll be like.

Well I've heard pretty much nothing but good about it. I hear it has a program called "project builder" that ships with the OS, which is like MSVC++, but nicer to work with. I've never used it first hand though.
