I only have my permit right now but I drive a Dodge Durango (200 I think). My first car will probably be a shagin' wagon, a 1990 VW Vanagon. 4 cylinders that has trouble going up hills. What fun!

I'm 6'1" adn all my height us in my lower legs, so I hit the steering wheel on both big cars even with the seats back. I'll never be able to drive a sports car .

At least you can drive a sports car! And find shoes too. Try finding a pair of size 16 shoes without special ordering them!

Come November, I've gotta choose my new company car. Current front runners are Volvo S60, Merc C200 or Audi A6. Life can be such a b**** sometimes.

If you ever feel like getting your ass kicked you're welcome to stop by my house where I'd be glad to pummel you in a fit of jealousy.

Holy hell! I thought I had it bad for size 12. Ever thought of binding your feet smaller? Sure it'll hurt, but maybe you can bring your feed down a couple of inches.

    16, damn!

McClaren F1... just kidding, I have a 98 Pontiac Grand Am, which, according to something I recently saw on TV, has a poor rating in 40 MPH off-center crash tests, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy about ridding in it.

My parents always joke about how they shold have bound my feet together. I'm thinking about just chopping some of each foot off. Sure it's painfull, but not as painfull as spending hours trying to find a decent pair of shoes that fit.

And the worst part is, they're still growing. Pretty soon I'll be the shortest guy in the big and tall stores. Size 16 shoes and only 6'1"... I'm a freak.

Have you seen the VW Phaeton already? VW wants to operate in the same field as BMW-7, the large Mercedes, Volvo etc. I've seen the car, it looks like a giant Passat, but it has not very special things inside. I wonder if VW can play around with BMW and the others.

I don't think VW has a good enough image to compete with BMW/Mercedes/Lexus in the USA. When you hear the word Volkswagon, you think of an old vanbus, not a nice car. But I don't know, Cadillac aren't old people's cars anymore, so I guess anything's possible.

In Europe VW has the reputation of building high quality in the middle-class cars, like the Polo, Golf, Bora and Passat. It has also the reputation of having expensive cars, compared to for example French cars. For a the price of a simple Golf, you can buy a nice Renault with lots of accesoires.

The Phaeton is VW's first car in the high-class segment, a simple Phaeton costs about 85.000 euro, which is about 80.000 dollars I think. But compared to a BMW from the 7-serie, the Phaeton is quite simple. The BMW has much more features and high-tech on-board. The car communicates with the base in Muenchen. If for example an accident happens, the car contacts the base in Muenchen which calls police, fire and ambulance. Everything in the car is measured and controlled. It's really amazing.

Perhaps a stupid question, but do modern American cars differ much from European? I don't know much about American cars, but I know they are usually larger than European cars, at least the older models were.
