    country stereotypes

Put your vision of the stereotype of the average citizen of your country (or your section of the country):

    Qualities of a massachusetts citizen:
politically correct until his or her passing away
liberal on all the issues except the ones that matter
    puritan
    often lesbian
    witch burner
    tea destroyer

    Popular Sayings:
"Patriots RULE" or "Red Sahks rahk!"

    Most disgraced person:
Kennedy's cousin... scakill? ... and our governor

    Biggest wastes of money:
Dr. Seuss Memorial (mentioned on the Daily Show as example of government waste)
    the Big Dig

    The truth:
Spoiled gossipy rich asses that are retarded and cry about everything. MORONS!!!

    Alabama has some serious stereotypes.

Just know, everyone isnt like the ppl that you see on TV, that talk like Ken just did :P.

People that fit that stereotype are from the LITTLE towns, not the bigger cities.

    Canada Stereotypes:

    Sterotypes:

    1. We all have pet beavers
    2. There's gay mounties everywhere
    3. It always snows
    4. We live in igloos
    5. There's no large cities
    6. There's penguins
    7. Terrorists all live here
    8. We have no military power
    9. We all say "eh?"
    10. We rule at hockey

    Truth:
    1. I've never even seen a beaver. I think they're all dead from the fur trade in the 1700's
    2. Yeah we have mounties, but they hardly ever ride their horses, and hardly ever wear their red uniforms. And by the way, they look cool, not gay.
    3. This is the same climate as the northern states
    4. I've never even seen an igloo
    5. Um... Montreal, Quebec, Vancouver, Ottawa, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Victoria...
    6. SOUTH pole NOT NORTH(I hope I'm right about this or I'll feel really stupid)
    7. Right after 9/11 everyone complained about how they all were able to sneak in through Canada, and it was all Canada's fault. Read the news and you'll see how they all got American passports, trained in American schools etc.
    8. Our military is small but deadly. Although equiptment is typically inferior to American, training and discipline is much higher.
    9. This one's actually true, eh
    10. Damn right!!

These were actually said to me by Americans. I thought they were pretty funny, especially the bit about igloos.

    9. We all say "eh?"
And don't forget "aboot" instead of "about".

Hey Vicious don't forget the incest!
I thought that was West Virginia?!

Arkansas has way too many negative stereotypes. Jeez, look at my user name.

    >People that fit that stereotype are from the LITTLE towns, not the bigger cities.<

I think there is people like that all over the US, and they all live in smaller towns. For example, I'm sure a small town in Oregon or something has some "hickish" type trailer trash people.

But in bigger cities, definitely. You don't find people like that, thank God. We hate them too, people.

PS.: Ken really is a hick.

            std::complex<float>(0, 1)

        ).real() < 0;

    more stereotypes:

    ok here's another one...

In Canada there's a province called Newfoundland (Which just changed its name to "Newfoundland and Labradour") where the people are, shall we say, "different". And this is not just made up, I have several newfie friends and they're all really strange. In fact, just as in the Us they'll tell blond jokes, in Canada we'll tell Newfie Jokes.

Anyway, heres a "virus" I got in my email awhile ago:

    This is the Newfie Virus

As we ain't got any programming experience this works on the honor system.

First, format your hard drive yourself, then mail the virus to everyone in your mailing list.

She was so Blonde, she spent 20 minutes looking at the orange juice can because it said "Concentrate."

When in doubt, read the FAQ.
    Then ask a smart question.
