    Exclamation OT: wsa32.exe

wsa32.exe in c:\winnt\system32... does anyone know what this file is for? It's running on my PC at work and I'm not sure that it's part of the i386 install.. this irritating file will stick at 99% usage on my CPU.

    anyone heard of this file?

    thankx

WSA normally represents the prefix to Winsock2 functions.

On my Win98 box there's a WSAsrv.exe which seems to be valid as I can extract it from the cabs with system file checker. My Win2k box has no such file.

Follow no-one's advice and look at the date. Also, look at the properties as often Microsoft gives extra info on the version tab.
