this is another letter, this time from my senator, John Kerry (a possible democrat presidential canidate):
(any spelling errors are mine)Mr. Jack Rabbit
6 For St
Nowhere, Penn. 90210 (obviously the address is fake)
Dear Mr. Rabbit:
Thank you for contacting me regarding legislation that would address copyright protections for digital content. I appreciate hearing from you, and I apologize for the delay in my response.
As you know, Senator Hollings has introduced the "Consumer Broadband and Digital Television Promotion Act" (S. 2048), which addresses this topic. I agree that the Congress should proceed with great caution when regulating the development of technology. Technological innovations have made it easier to distribute written works, music, and other materials quickly. Unfortunately, these technologies also make it easier to pirate and widely distribute copyrighted materials. I believe that particular attention must be given to the writers, artists and other creators of copyrighted material whose works are entitled to protection from piracy in the information age. I am anxious to continue this debate should this legislation be considered by the full Senate, and I will certainly keep your views in mind as this issue unfolds.
Thank you again for sharing your views with me. Please do not hesitate to contact me further on this or any issue.
Sincerely,
(signature)
John F. Kerry
United States Senator
