What about the Duron? Cyrix? 486? 386? 286? Pentium 1? AMD-K62? You sure screwed this poll up; much like the OS one.

AFAIK, Geforce4 is not a processor.

There is no such as a best processor. The Pentiums are fine for general processing, but for very specific tasks one could choose processors like the SH4, 8051, TMS320C6201, DSP56002 or some other processor that fits your needs.

    CYRIX!? are you serious?

Cyrix has to be the worst processor ever!

GO AMD ATHLON! (although on this computer i have a K6 =\)

Well i didnt bother putting those old processors cuz they were too slow, and anyway among those processors, ofcourse pentium 1 would win, it was much more efficient than other.

GForce, i meant Nvida Chip processor

    I don't know what's funnier: Stevey's poo diaper or Sorensen vs. Muttski ( round 1 ).
lol, it is hard to decide, i think we should have a poll on that as well

    shouldn't you make 2 posts?

you know, one for processors one for vid cards?

since voting twice is kinda weird...

A graphics card is not a processor, but a graphics card does have one or more processors on it. So in some way it is valid. But ... then you should also add sound cards and many other cards.

    i am sry that i forgot G4,
well anyway if it was upthere it would have won and the other processors had no chance.

who ever said Video cards do not have processors need to review his hardware.
all video and sound cards have processors.
there are processors on the cards so the load from the main CPU is taken off, and computer runs incredibly faster.
Processors on video n sound cards have always been on them
    so never say:
last time i checked, graphics cards weren't processors.

abit of research would help u alot.
    maybe try this

What about Celeron? Duron's aren't "old and slow", that's for sure. K6-2's are still pretty fast.

You can't compare the processor on graphics cards to those on your motherboard... they perform two completly different operations. So, if we're talking about true processors, Graphics cards don't have a true processor.

If you wanted to compare graphics processors, make a different thread titled "The best video card", and don't forget to leave out obvious choices.

but celerons and durons are the cheap versions of p3 and athlon so they couldnt compete, they have very little cache I think.

How can they not compete? The question wasn't "Which is the fastest processor" it was "Which is the best processor".

So, use whatever criteria you see fit to evalutate which processor you feel to be the best. I would choose Duron if it were up there, it's faster than a P3, and its much much much cheaper.
