Considering the alternative (I am getting 100 emails with virus attachments per day from some guy in New York... which I have reported to his ISP) if I were you Witch King, I would steal some virus software to fix the problem.

I am not big on stealing software, but in such a case... you absolutely must get it cleaned. It is a particularly nasty thing...

    >but I'm running a MS operating system so what can I do?

Sit down and learn how to use it. You expect it to guess what
you want right out of the box. That won't happen in the near
future. Before you complain about something, learn.

Get the latest Versions, don't open attachments and get a
    firewall.

If you've got Windows, all of this is FREE, you just have to
    DO it.

I was running all the updates. IE 6, SP 2. The only thing I didn't have is the firewall.

    I never open attachments.

I locked all the doors but one and the bad guys still got in...

Then get one, it's free if you get ZoneAlarm.

    re: Nimda

    Hi,
    try the
    http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/[email protected]

The numda it uses unprotected IIS on your system - try to apply all the recent paches from MS site

also get the HFNETCHK utility from MS to check your MS system for known weak spots.

OK, Dean, time for cleansing breaths...

Out with the bad air, in with the good, out with the bad air, in with the good....

    Better?

Now - reformat and install DOS... Don't even try Windows. How many viruses do you hear of that target DOS? Exactly!

thats cause you don't need viruses to hose up DOS... besides every virus that could possibly be written for DOS has been written.

    (nv) left out one thing,

don't whatever you use DONT use outlook its the gateway to hell.
most of the big viruses that do all the damage you've heard about in the past 2 years spread through outlook.
