Thread: Its...Its...Its AMAZING!!!

Yesterday I installed Windows XP on my computer *ahem ahem*...trust me...its not the full version

and its awesome...

How could something so stable and so good come out of Microsoft?!? It is like an oxymoron!!! It is...........GOOD! It is actaully GOOD! Back when using Win95 my comp would stall 2 to 3 times a day...and now using XP it hasnt stalled once...in fact, it runs 300% better, and is INCREDIBLY more efficient. Oh man...DO I love this operating system...

like? Is it a business NT/2K type thing, or is
it for home use (like 9x).

heh, well, actually you cant buy it yet...its supposed to come out this fall. You can get a beta if you want to go the legal way...*do de dem de do* I dunno how much it will cost.

XP is kind of a combination of NT and 9x....its awesome....its for business and for home use. Stable and easy to use. User friendly and INCREDIBLY efficient. I have had it for one day and am loving it.

Unfortunately stability is not much of an issue. I've known that Win2k is fully stable for the last few months. The issue is the internet. That's where the problem is. There are about a million people getting ready to attack Microsoft operating systems. It's not about stability any more that is a non issue.

Filrewall is a good thing but not enough to protect against all the security holes in MS Operating Systems.

The thing is, that you need a firewall now. You need it to combat the massive invasion that is mounting against all MS users.

I think Microsoft is trying to do a little more monopolization...they have packaged Windows Messenger with XP...looks like they are trying to take out AIM...

$99 for the Home edition upgrade (you do already have a version of Windows, don't you?)
$199 for the Pro edition upgrade.

You can expect these to be about $20 over what you'll actually pay.

Pro has the encrypting file system, remote desktop, dual-processor support, can be part of a domain, and is available in several languages.

ahh! oh... and... are their any signifant changes that would prompt me to upgrade? i didn't see many from 95 to 98, or even 98 to me... but from 95 to me i would've... thanks...

Something that nobody seems to talk about is the .NET Framework, but if you download it to Win2k and use a firewall you can probably stay with that instead of WinXP. Otherwise WinXP is fundamentally different. I don't know why critics don't know about the framework.

Windows XP is a minor evolution over Windows 2000. Where's the 'fundamental difference'?

I was referring to the .NET framework obviously you prick. Anyway I didn't know that XP didn't come with the .NET framework, infact I heard that it was going to. They keep changing their minds. XP servers? When, where?

I have seen Windows 2000, and WinXP is no minor revolution...and for Win9x...WinXP is an even bigger revolution than from Win2k...I highly suggest getting it.
