ooh no !!!! theyve got you too !!!!!!
don't tell me youre a organize, realize, socialize person too !!!!!

oxford dictionaries now allow organise AND organize yeah,
but the older dictionaries, and as i was taught at school, its organise only......the z is a relatively recent Americanism corruption !!! some kids now use the z, largely due to MS Office i reckon. !!! the z is now official English !!!! yuk

    edit
i'm reading The Times, and every word is organise, organisation, realise, conceptualise.......the s is definitely 'proper' English, the z is also allowed though...
type organise into search at http://www.bbc.co.uk/
    now type organize

    i rest my case : 3,330 to 256 !!

ps how old are you ??? if over 30 and you still use z, then i'm gonna shoot you !!!

actually, no it isn't, i'm reading The Times, and every word is organise, organisation, realise, conceptualise.......the s is definitely 'proper' English, the z is also allowed though...

Steve, I'm 41, and had always used -ise, until I read that -ize is (believe it or not) the correct english ending. If anything, it is -ise that is becoming the standard (viz the Times). My (1988) Oxford Paperback doesn't even list organise, although organize is there.

    yeah, you're right !!!!!

my 1948 dictionary has organize only, no ise, my 1989 dictionary has ize and ise........so why do BBC and Times use ise, and we were both taught to use ise!! odd

i always thought the ize was an Americanism, and have never liked the spelling ize....but its only how i was taught.

looks like ize is correct english, we seem to have switched to ise (or most of us), the americans have stayed with ize.....

my nephews seem to be using ize.....thats what i meant...people of my generation seem to always use ise.

still...... if my nephews used inches etc, would that be an american influence??? or 'old fashioned' english ???? if you see what i mean...

I must admit it was a shock for me too. I'd always thought of -ize as American (not that there's anything wrong with American B4 I get flamed), until I read the article (I wish I could remember where I saw it!).

Edit -I don't know how to tell you this, but it looks like -ise is (gulp) French!!!!

Actually I got the old, jolly, fat black woman...

    >i know exactly what you mean, as a single guy i want the attractive gal to do me....even if it is only a 5 minute

You mean you are satisfied with only 5 minutes of her doing you? You should be able to go longer than 5 minutes.... sorry...that was dirty...hehehe....
