I got a thick piece of mouse mat called a 'wrist pad 2.5' ( has US patent #5.197.699 ????) for the front of my keyboard and solved all the problems I was having with this. (Is just a keyboard length * 5cm wide *2.5cm thick pad.)

Comes in handy for bashing the other programmers and the screen if experiencing difficult to reach problems.
