    "surfing" the net

i don't surf the net. I go to the few sites that i like to visit and look for updates on them and such, then i go to my message boards and do allitle posting, then i get back to life. No need to search for random and mostly extraneous things... i don't really understand how you can "surf" the net. i use google maybe 1-2 times a week.

i take a subject (like voodoo3 drivers for linux(which i can't find due to 3dfx shutting down), or huffman encoding, or the powell meeting in israel/palestine) and type it in and see how far i go

Go to Google and type in "mullet".

The novelty of surfing the net wore off pretty quick with me. I've got roughly 5 - 6 sites that I check and not all of them do I check each day. The only sites that I definitely check every day are these forums and to see how my stock is doing.

same here, Aran. Actually I would like some tips on surfing the net from the more experienced ones in these boards.

If I want something, I go find it. Otherwise I am in a routine.... here, bills, finances, www.dosgames.com, and that is pretty much it.

Articles? Do you have a specific topic in mind?
    I don't know, maybe try Yahoo.com... I seem to
get linked to various articles there.

    >i don't surf the net.

Same with me. When I'm on the net, I have a few sites I'll always go to.

if you've got an interest in a subject, i can spend hours looking at info on it, running off at tangents etc, theres so much good stuff to read........

ive a question, when youre loading a page..watching the little bar move to the right...50,75,90,95,99 % of the way..then it stops....
sometimes ive gone away and had a crap or something and it still hasn't loaded !!
so you press refresh or go back then forwards again and its there !! anyone know whats happening ????
the problem is common, but it seems to be getting worse on my PC, i'm not imagining it.....its getting worse...i'm looking at pages of jobs and stuff, and the "continue to next page" is right at the bottom of the page, i'm having to refresh or go back then forwards several times every page !!! sometimes if i click 'stop' the whole page is there, but generally only 95% of the page is there and ive missed the "continue" at the bottom !!!

    anyone any helpful comments ??????

I get that sometimes, usually when running IE, but when I'm running Opera, "It's all good"

IE is slow... all the other 3* main ones are faster than Bill Gates' Spyware.

Surfing the net for me is just browsing the few sites i visit, looking for new new or articles on technology, space, and local matters since I hear enough about foreign problems on tv, and respoinding to posts on here.
