    Magic Lantern

What do all of you know about this? A friend of mine told me about this, and it kinda freaked me out so I found out more info on it.

I know there is alot of software vendors that have said they would do everything they can to block it and absolutly not incorporate it. If it got out that for example symantec helped the Ame goverment to spy on German Gov they would never sell a copy in Germany again. So if you as a software vendor want to sell your product on the global market it would be stupid to jump on that train.

I read somewhere that McAfee uses it, and that since they also make PGP, they either always or just often send people's keys to the FBI. Not too sure, just something I read while searching at wired.com

I had heard from my friend that McAfee and Norton are doing this, but I only saw McAfee listed at wired.com. He also said that most of the no-name anti-virus programs may put the magic lantern on their list of viruses, but I have not heard this anywhere else.

It is still kinda scary though, and expecially with advances in the web and stuff cause you can now get a virus on your computer by just viewing a page. I am not sure how, but my little cheap program picked up some from a site, and norton 2002 didn't think of it as a virus, so either there is something going on there or that little program is on crack.

weeeee more non-sense you cant get a virus from simply loading a webpage... but you can get one if you install plugins, have java enabled...
