    Be polite

That is just absurd. I don't beleive you understand. People don't NEED to use cuss words in order to make an intelligent point. Please refrain. Gracias por tu perro.

Man, i hate 13 year old kids who troll the message boards all over the internet until they find something to dissagree with and just make a ("*Donkey*") out of themselves by posting against the grain to make them feel better in their pathetic lives that they get on the computer for 1 hour a day in between rapings and beatings from their father! (This is towards you Epoc)

    >>>I think you all are a bunch of pathetic looser that have little control over your own lives and are trying to make yourselves feel better by "stopping the profanity." <<<

Good at spelling foul language... poor at spelling 'loser' and doesn't understand plurals.

I believe the majority of us here are quite the opposite of your tirade "pathetic looser" speech. Many of us have been all around the world, have good jobs (or are good students approaching good jobs), and have dealt with many peons like you in our lives.

On your other comment, let me check... yep 'nads still there, beautiful wife still there, brilliant child still there, six figure income still there, home in Hawaii still there, world travels still there...

Oh... but you are a real winner. You can use foul language, and yet my clean language ........es you off to no end. Imagine that chump.

Perhaps you are the one with a lot of growing up to do...

    >>I think you all are a bunch of pathetic looser that have little control over your own lives and are trying to make yourselves feel better by "stopping the profanity." I think you should all grow up and except that there are men out there whos balls have actually dropped, unlike yourselves, that are not afraid to excersize their freedom of speech. Sure we could use other words in place of our "bad words" if we wanted too.

It seems you are the pathetic loser without control over your MOUTH.

Also, please don't disrespect other people's mothers...No true man with balls needs to make a come back by talking about someone's mother. Betazep, your mother is cool.

I was going to comment, but I can't stop laughing long. The "Yes, and yours are now gone..." is one of the best comebacks I've ever heard! I don't know what the original post said ( nor do I want to ) but the Mod ( whicheve one ) just gained much cool points with that one!

*sniff* Deeply touched. Thank you, thank you. ...

People like Epoc can take comfort in the fact that they're special. Things rarely bother me. He bothered me. I guess that makes him unique.

Nobody needs to swear. Personally, i know enough words to get by withough using three or four of them if i have to.

    howdy,
in everyday conversation count the number of words the average joe on the street uses that contains more than four letters, then subtract all of the ones that qualify as profain the answer is most people dont know many words of more than four letters and less words that have a significant meaning.

    my opinion:
swear if you want to, but only enough to get your point across
it doesn't matter how many words of the english language fit the meaning. the speaker has chosen these particular words to express him/herself. if it makes him/her sound like an idiot, chances are s/he is an idiot.
words are expressive. they convey more than a simple meaning. they show the character of the person speaking. banning swear words will not stop people of bad character from expressing their "opinion" anyway. it will just delay the recognition of those of bad character until after they have inserted a few bad ideas into our cerebrums.

george w bush called a reporter a "major league ****". clinton expressed his disdain at the media more subtlely. does clinton's message get across better or worse than bush's?

Call me crazy, but I've always felt that the written word envolves more thought process than the spoken word.

    Nobody needs to swear.
Exactly. People typically swear because they're trying to express there emotions vocally with little time to think about exactly what is being said. I swear just as everyone else does, but I usually force myself to think before I speak so the profanity is at a minimum. I have children and so I tend to be very watchful about what I say or do.

Which brings me back to my main point. If you find yourself consistently using profane language while posting or replying to posts, then you probably need to take some time away from the keyboard. Written communication should involve more thought. Even if it is just between friends.

After all, the best insults, rebukes, and opinions are the ones without all the "colorful metaphors" distracting from the point.

Mainly, i agree with you ygfperson. I've been known to be 'foul mouthed' (when i'm in a good mood mostly... i dont know....). But i keep it down around the people that are offended by it. It doesnt really make a lot of sense why [they are], but the fact is that some people dont like it. And since we want to keep this forum open and pleasant to all that want to enjoy it, the rule says keep it clean.

I dont really see what the problem is. It not a matter of opinion about whether people should swear or not. Just dont do it here, thats all. Works for me anyhow. *shrug*

I'm sorry but the only thing i can remember Clinton saying is 'I did not have sexual relations with that woman.' And as for bush... i wasnt aware he said anything that someone didnt hand him on a piece of paper.
