just out of curiosity. i realize many of us are relatively independant from our culture. [like me or maybe you don't think so] but here it is. don't reply, or, actually, do... let's have a discussion about culture.

i would put up a poll on various countries, but i don't have much of an idea where we all might generally be. i know many are from the US, and there are many Europeans. but you can probably generalize US upbringing more than the whole of Europe. [non-flame...] anyways... what should the options be?

There's a lot of diversity among the nations of Europe. Just
say the names and conjure up an image in your mind:
England...Scotland...Wales...Ireland...France...Ge rmany...Denmark...Poland...Italy...Greece...Russia ...Serbia...Croatia...Switzerland...Austria...Esto nia...Lithuania...Spain...Portugal. Each one is different.

A lot of countries have been affected. It's almost as if the attacks were against the whole world, even though they occurred in the US.

Russia doesn't seem to keen to get involved, although I did read that they had 10 000 troops stationed at the Afghan-Russian border. Pakistan seems somewhat reluctant as well.
