More people die in America from shooting each other than northern ireland, and that's a war.

Damn skippy!
Right Brian...Ireland is just a teensy bit smaller than the US if you hadn't figured that out, not to mention that the UK has some islands as well...(they're not all deserted, y'know )
>>Course, I haven't heard of many people trying to destroy Denver because they think Colorado should be its own country...<<
Wait...Denver is in Colordado...why are people destroying themselves to liberate themselves there, cheez?

Why hasn't anybody mentioned "Rap Music"...?
I always thought that was a popular one...

Ok, about the Northern Irish conflict (I'm English by the way)......
The terrorists you talk of are the IRA. They are catholics originating from the Republic of Ireland (Eire or southern Ireland) which is a completely different country. So it's not the british blowing up the british. It's the IRA blowing up the british, no different in effect than Al Quada (sp?) blowing up the americans. The situation is very similar when you consider that the IRA believe they are fighting for the rights of catholics who they believe are being treated as second class citizens by the British. Much like Al Quada fights for what it believes is the persecution of arabs and in particular muslims by America's foreign policy.
One thing I would say though is that the IRA would not be able to blow up the british if their militant organisation wasn't funded by American businessmen. We certainly don't fund Al Quada.

Except that the Al Qaeda didn't blow up part of New York because they wanted to annex it.

Yeah, I figured that when the world decided to have a "war on terror" that, you know, the same old terrorist acts that has been plaguing the world would at least get nervous. Seems like same old same old for the two biggest conflicts (UK and Israel/Palestine). *sigh* So what exactly are we all doing?
