Booze is by far the worst, as it is easily available along with petrol and solvents.
So make all drugs easily available so more people will be on crack (so addictive normal people would do or kill anything to get some) than booze (which like all drugs can lead to violence)? I'm not sure that made sense.

Drugs are a major form of control. I don't want to government in control of the population that completely, thanks.

For real. All of us stoners here aren't for crack...well most of us at least.

BTW, Justin W, are you for or against marijuana legalization? I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not...

one funny thing is marajuana is the only drug not leagal for medic puposes that can be used for that. (well in some states it is). The reason it's illegal is because it was the drug of mexican imigrants who everyone hated.

Actually, it goes much more deeper than that.

    not good

    howdy,
i have. heroin cocaine crystal meth. and any other chemical i could put into my body in any way you can imagine and some you dont want to imagine, took a wife, 3 kids and an engineering career (i made 80K in 1985) not to mention time behind bars (probably 5 years all added up) and living on the mean streets of LA, the cold streets of Denver, the sick streets of SLC, coke *****s in LasVegas, to name a few.
ive been clean 12 years now so my opinion may suprise you.
if you havent touched drugs DONT. if chemicals are F*****G up your life now STOP USING. however if a dubby after work, a tall cold bud, nose candy for a romantic weekend etc. helps you chill, more power to you.
at 42 year old i choose clean, hope my kids do too.

    Legalise them all.
This is what I was replying to. That kind of thing I think would be incredibly dangerous.

Drugs in general I think is a bad idea. People are stupid enough in large numbers that many don't use 'em simply because they are illegal. Many people use them anyway, but they would use them just as much as legal, thus leaving them illegal keeps at least some kids away. The "everyone else is doing it" thing can apply for illegal drugs, but much more so for legal (look at tobacco). In other words... I'm undecided on the marajuana issue. I don't know enough about it. One thing for someone to say they aren't addicted... but if this is going to create another tobacco like industry, then for sanity alone leave illegal...

I hope there are other people besides me who are smart enough to see that it is better never to try the drugs... rather than come to that decision after going through what itld just described. I've chosen not put any of these chemicals into my body, and I do not think it's such a bad desicion after all.

Leave the control in the hands of the drug barons then. They are doing a very good job so far.

The doctor would be able to determine if you were developing a problem better than the avarage drug dealer (and probably cares a bit more if you are).

    Accept one thing

You can NOT stop drugs. They are here to stay. Its time we realised that and delt with the problem without trying to hide the fact MOST of us take drugs. (remember asprin, caffine and even chocolate are drugs) While we hide them people who need help will not get it. The only people who benifit are the dealers and lawyers.

Man, weed is like a waste of time. I've had beer (i'm 14) an that's that exactly exciting.... You drink it, run around like an idiot, then fall asleep in somebody's back yard. I've seen some people on weed do some crazy stuff. I'd hate to get hooked on it while at school then ruin my life forever.

Most drugs are a serious problem from dose one. Some take a whopping three or four doses before they become painfully addictive. Any doctor administering them would have no more conscience than a "drug baron".

With it legal, more people would be using. I can't help it (though we may try to) if some people are using illegally now, but... I'm not going to legalize murder as long as it happens in a controlled environment. "Johnny has an anger problem and would like to be the one to help 'put down' that prisoner on death row". "OK, that'll be $27.50." Let's not let this become a death penalty argument too (needless to say I'm against the government having that kind of power over its population as well).

Taking drugs is wrong. Encouraging others to take drugs is more wrong. Therefore, I would not legalize all drugs. Harming others like that, I feel is the definition of removing freedom, not gaining it.

Chocolate may lead to obesity, caffeine to headaches, and aspirin to cleaner arteries, but most if not all illegal drugs lead to pain, violence (usually against innocents), and often death.

    Marijuana does not.

...and another thing. Caffiene can be more harmful that weed. This is from self-experience.

I could never afford cocaine, and I am not stupid enough to go into pills and all that crap.

But weed is about as harmful as playdough [silly putty, for you yanks], the non-toxic stuff. Except playdough [silly putty] doesn't give you the munchies.
