    Watchmen

This movie is simply incredible. Not an action hero movie, more like a Super-Hero Opera, a tragedy of epic proportions.

You thought so? I was really disappointed... I actually walked out - I just could not get into it..

edit: though I did like the premise - a tragedy of bygone superheros. I just thought the blue man orgy scene was a just a _little_ too twisted.

You should watch the animated version of the comic book, it's 5 hours long

Oh hell, the movie doesnt even get started til after that scene. The whole movie was basically character devlopment. Every time you thought you had a character's personality fixed, boom another scene which completely changed your perspective on everything you thought about that character.

But yeah, definately not a movie for children or squeemish adults.

Well then I missed all of that! My patience was running low on movies - I've had bad luck lately, and so it wasn't gonna take much for me to decide I was wasting my time. I rented Lakewood Terrace thinking it looked action-packed. Wrong!

Yeah, I suppose you shoudl probably stop trying to clasify what you watch by teh trailers, since they usually screw it up intentionally. I rented lakewood simply because Samuel Jackson was in it. I rent all his movies regardless of what they are, and ill keep doign so until he puts out a couple fo crappy ones. You have to judge a movie by what it is, not by what it is not.

I felt the movie left out quite a lot of character development, especially on Rorschach

compared to what, the 5 hour graphic novel adaptation? Well yeah, given another 2 1/2 hours I'm sure they would have done a lot more, but rouschach isnt the only charcter in teh movie, they cant spend the whole time on him and have the other characters be little more than paper dolls.

I was surprised they actually put out a movie that long, if it fails, expect them to blame it on its runnign time, not its lack of character development.

I want to see Watchmen. I hope it compares to The Dark Knight, which is by far my favorite movie.

It was one of the worst movies I've ever watched.

What I didn't like about The Dark Knight is almost exactly the same thing I didn't like about The Watchmen (I'm not referring to the time it takes to get going - I mean the "twisted-ness" of it). So if you like Dark Knight, there's a good change you'll enjoy The Watchmen.
