    Did you work today?

    How dedicated are you? Or perhaps the better question is, how dedicated is your employer? Are you still at work? Or did the boss let you have the day off?

    I worked until 2:30 today, in the wet snow (10 inches of the stuff fell last night), with the last couple of hours being quite rainy. My boots were so wet, I think my feet were swimming.

    Yeah I did 9 hours today (in an internet cafe). What a waste of time, I think we actually lost money. As all the backpackers were partying

    Monday (22nd), water main break at around noon... official word came down at around 1:30 "all non-essential employees are instructed to leave" so I got to leave a few hours early (had to take some personal/vacation leave).

    Tuesday (23rd), building still closed to "non-essential personnel" for water main repairs. Took a full days vacation leave.

    Wednesday (24th), came into work, let off early (around 1:00) by manager for Christmas Eve.

    Thursday (25th), duh!

    Friday (26th), another federal holiday on orders of our president... as a contractor that does not apply to me so I'd either have to work or take a full days vacation leave (I choose the leave).

    This week I'm working up through Wednesday then off for the rest of the week. We'll probably (99% chance) get let off early again on Wednesday.

    I've been on vacation since last Tuesday because I'm not allowed to carry my vacation hours into 2009, so I had to use them. It's not my favorite time of year to take vacation. Usually I like to go hiking, backpacking, or travelling and the weather isn't making that easy.

    But since I would have lost those days anyway, I don't have any problem taking them even if I can't go anywhere.
    Code:
    //try
    //{
    	if (a) do { f( b); } while(1);
    	else   do { f(!b); } while(1);
    //}

    At least I'm not the only one who gets fworked out of his vacation just because the office was forced to close.
    Code:
    //try
    //{
    	if (a) do { f( b); } while(1);
    	else   do { f(!b); } while(1);
    //}
