Now who said that the source for Windows would cost you your first born child? All we gotta do is find someone who's going to one of these schools.... taylorguitarman, I believe you attend Univ. of Wisconsin, right? Anyone wanna hook us up?

Graduated in December. Sorry. Plus, I didn't go to Madison. I still know some people that go there though. I'll have to look into that. My guess is it's grad students that get access. I am looking to go there for grad school but that'll be a year off.

IMHO, they should just use the linux source, not such a hassle as getting it from MS.

Just an idea, but do you honestly think it's the entire and correct source code to Windows?

Maybe not the entire source, no, but I'd be willing to bet what's there is correct.

I guess but I have a hard time believing that. Just think about it, a company makin billions on a piece of software just gives there source code away to colleges. The code part of open source are college students. That source could get into the wrong hands pretty quick.

    >>>like Windows XP, Windows 2000 and Windows CE

See the key word here is 'like'. MS probably thinks Win 3.1 is 'like' XP.

I thought they "lost" the source for 3.1 during that whole Netscape thing..
