I'm surprised he considered going to the store as exercise, and was opposed to it no less.

He does make a point though, in that torrents help to make te distribution of goods and services more efficient. Its obvious that the makers fo the shows dont care about the aussie market, or they would make more effort to distribute there (not a 2 year lag).

    Moin Folks,

torrents are destroying the world is not true.

torrents are destroying the P2P-world, means it destroys itself.
The spirit of P2P is/was another, and illegal torrents are a big problem for P2P, but not for the world.

What you really mean is "torrents are destroying the software/music industry"

The music industry is searching a scapegoat for the (relatively) lost money of the last years, that's all.
So they put the blame on the filesharing.

Many people are dowloading music from torrents, but what is it ? It is an mp3 with mostly 128 kb/s, a truncated copy of the original.

What have we done 1o or 2o years ago ? Somebody bought a LP/CD and the frinds made their copys on a tape.
Nobody cried and nobody cared for it.

The music industry looked away, because they knewed that on this way their music(labels) were spreaded and at the end more people bought the LPs/CDs.

Now we have hard times for honest working people.
The industry don't want to pay the employees well but they wanna make cash from them.

Does anybody really think that M$ would be the most spreaded and used OS in the world without pirated copies ?!

No, they saw it with goodwill.
The same is true for the rest of the software industry.
And if they've got the lemons in the basket they'll be squeezed.

If you wanna get rid of being a slave of M$ and proprietary, restricted software you need, take this medicine

    Medicine

    "I have ready."
