Thread: Red Alert

I got an old game named C&C Red Alert that is written for Win95 I want to runit on WinXP.It has two EXEs one for DOS and one for Win95. DOS one runs but Win one gives this error>

The procedure entry point SMapLS_IP_EBP_12 could not be located in KERNEL32.dll

Is there nayway for me to make it run? DOS version runs in very low picture resolution.

Probably hard to solve that, as it's relying on some (undocumented?) function in the Win9X kernel, and the kernel for Windows NT/2K/XP is completely different.

Awsome game. We held great multiplayer parties back then playing C&C Red Alert. The C&C series took the real time strategy to the new level we know today. But Red Alert was the best. The intro is one of my favorite of all times.

VDMSound should help to. Or go all the way with DOSBox

I suggest also a DOS Extender to replace DOS4GW. Get the binaries. Documentation is included. I found it to speed up considerably some of the games I play with DOSBox.

No worries. It only came out on version 0.70 if memory serves me right.
